Cannot enable VMware Bridge Protocol for cellular network

Every time I try to enable VMware  Bridge Protocol the prompt below pops up. If you click 'Yes' the properties window closes but when opened again the VMware Bridge Protocol is not checked, if you click 'No' it removes the check mark from VMware Bridge Protocol.

This is driving me crazy, does anybody have an answer on how to bridge this network connection? I know that NAT would work for connecting a VM, but I need only the VM to have access to this network, I do not even want the host to be able to use it. The only way I know to accomplish this is to bridge the connection and deselect IPv4 and IPv6 on the host. I posted a similar question a few weeks back but I do not feel I explained it very well and did not include a picture for reference.

Any help on how to fix this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

No it does not. See below for what is displayed.

c:\matt-temp>reg query HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services services.reg

ERROR: Invalid syntax.

Type "REG QUERY /?" for usage.

Perhaps you need to use a redirector to output to the services.reg file.  put > between the end of the key and the output file name.

Thank you, that looks to have worked.

Attached is a zip with all 3 files now.

Rob - you are right.
Strange that it is not required for reg export

Well, by definition, "export" is expecting to output to file.  I guess that "query" does not have that expectation.

Matt - looks like I am too busy at the moment to create a safe patch for you.
Maybe we can do this together in a remote session via Anydesk - would require way less time for me ....
Call me via skype if you still need help so that we can arrange a date on short notice.
Ulli

Ulli,

Thank you very much for all of your help in troubleshooting this. I do not require any further assistance at this time. I am going to attempt to block all internet use on the host and utilize NAT to give internet access to one of the VM's instead of bridging.

I would hope that at some point in the future VMWare will address this issue with a update as I have found multiple people across internet forums attempting to do the same thing that I was trying to do without any success.

Thanks for your quick responses and willingness to keep working on it.

-Matt

Did you ever get this working as I have exactly the same problem and I cannot resolve it.
