Target host does not support the virtual machine's current hardware requirements

I've currently got one VM created on a 2 host cluster and when I power it up I get the above message. Have any of you good people got any ideas why this maybe the case considering I have only just created the VM, which passed all compatibility checks during the creation process and is being started up for the first time

Are the ESXi nodes are identical ? By chance is the VM is trying to get booted on other node from where it was created by DRS ?

Is HA and DRS enabled on that cluster ? Can you change the DRS setting to manual and try powering it on on the same node where it was created .

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yes, ESXi nodes are identical

HA isn't enabled, DRS is enabled. I created it on the cluster rather than the individual node, and as the only option when I try to move it is the second node I assume it's running on the 1st node. When I do try to move it manually it gives the same compatibility problems.
