Platform service controller upgrade from Upgrade 2 to Upgrade3

Hi All,

Need to understand that currently in my environment we have external PSC configured on Windows with 6.00 U2 and vCenter Server too configured on Windows with version 6.0.0 U2. As we are upgrade phase for SQL database we need to upgrade our PSC & vCenter Servers to Update 3. Hence let us know the procedure to upgrade the PSC and vCenter Server.

Sudhir

If you are going from 6.0u2 to u3 on windows, you can just mount the ISO on the server and perform in-place upgrade, Starting with the PSC Its next next etc etc  Make sure you have a valid back up of the PSC and VC together before proceeding

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply, the steps are clear but need to understand the ISO which is latest one "VMware-VIMSetup-all-6.0.0-9146214" is the same ISO which we need to use or there is some other Patch we need to download from VMware site for upgrading the PSC U2 to U3.

It actually depends on your requirement , you have isos' for all major versions with patching as given in the screenshot below . If you specifically want to go for U2 then choose 6.0 U3 else if you want latest update with all patches then go for the latest , it is recommended to use same iso for PSC and VC.
