I'm attempting to upgrade vCSA from 6.5U2c to 6.7U1, but keep getting a pre-ugprade check failed message.
Error Message:
Cannot validate target appliance configuration as not enough information from the source appliance can be collected. For more details check out the server logs
I've restarted the 6.5U2 and even restarted the upgrade process with no luck. A search does not bring up anything unfortunately. Anyone have an idea what I might need to possibly check for?
Looks like the issue is with your update manager. Do you have update manager service running normally on the source vcenter?
None, 'text': {'args': ['VMware vSphere Update Manager'], 'id': 'ur.requirements.component.internal.text', 'translatable': 'Internal error occurs during %(0)s pre-upgrade checks.', 'localized': 'Internal error occurs during VMware vSphere Update Manager pre-upgrade checks.'}}],
Can you share the output of source vcenter vcsa for the below command
service-control --status --all
Thanks,
MS
We need logs to check what went wrong as the error is generic in nature.

I completely forgot that I disabled VUM. Re-enabling the service allowed me to move forward with the upgrade process. Thanks!
Had the error: Cannot validate target appliance configuration as not enough information from the source appliance can be collected. For more details check out the server logs. But i did not find nothing in those logs.
Because the migration from 6.5u2c to 6.7u1 failed due to an "back-in-time" version issue i did this: upgrade the 6.7u1 Applicance to the latest version found on VMware Knowledge Base .
SSH into new 6.7u1 applicance:
"software-packages install --url --acceptEulas"
and then
"shutdown reboot -r "patch reboot""
After that, i could migrate without errors.

Thanks, this worked for me.
same issue, specifically i am updating 6.5u2f which release on 21 March, 2019 to 6.7u1.
Command> software-packages install --url --acceptEulas

It helps me to update to 6.7u2.
