Component Profile Fails on vRealize Automation 7.5

Dear all,

I have an issue when I am trying to create a new entry under Images in Component Profiles.

I cannot save the entry created and it fails with an error that Form cannot be saved - I tried different browsers but not luck. Any ideas?

Where did you get the value in the "Clone from" field? Did you manually type it in or select it from a drop-down list?

It was in the drop-down list.

This is a new VM template that I created, and before trying to create the component profile I did am inventory data collection through vRA.

What type of vRA license are you using? If you change the type from Desktop to Server, does it save? You also need a customization spec applied there in most cases.

The license is vRealize Advanced, but we already have a lot of other similar image component profiles created - I dont get it.

I tried with the blueprint type --> Server and Customization spec and it has the same result

Do you have any templates without underscores in their names? Try one of them if so. To my eyes (could just be the screenshot), those underscores in your win10 template look suspect.

We have some other templates where the names are including underscores.

I tested with another that doesn't have under scores, but no luck....

What if you change the value name from some other prefix from the default of "ValueSet"? That's about all I got if it doesn't work. May need to call GSS. Or, at the very least, look at the café logs yourself to see if you can get more info on where/why it's failing to save.

I have an open case with GSS and they are checking further the logs.

As soon as I will have a solution I will share it with all of us.

Hi Tasos,

Did you try to edit and save changes in image profile in different browser? I had same issue in Chrome browser on Mac OS. I tried to edit it in Firefox and it worked. Sometime it helps to clear the browser cache.

How many value sets do you have? In vra 7.4 we ran into a bug where we could not create more than 52 image profiles. Seems there is some sort of hard limit. When creating the 53rd one we could not save it and received an error. We could delete the 52nd one and recreate it no problem. I was told it would be fixed in the next release so I am curious if this is related to your issue.
