The evaluation version is exactly the same as what you download once you bought it.

re. eBay, those licenses are going to be 99 out of 100 fake.

It might work to license the binary, but they are created with a keygen, not a license key that is bought from VMware.

Ok, so you are running the VMware Workstation installer in a VM. This does not have to be an issue unless it is not a supported hypervisor. Running Workstation within Workstation should be possible.

The 2nd issue, having KVM enabled isn't going to work. That one is a full stop "won't work" one.

Finally, the "operation is not allowed" part suggests that you are either not running the installer as root or a security framework is preventing you from being able to install.

The install failed, so yes you would have to reinstall.

For re-install I would run the normal install notes, it should clean up any old install normally IIRC and if not then it will tell you.

Hi,

The usb arbitrator log really is not that useful for this case, but never mind that.

Why don't you follow the steps from bluefirestorm from the following thread:

vmplayer does not start: An up-to-date "libaio" or "libaio1" package from your system is preferred.

So that at least you have the basic requirements set.

Then try a uninstall / install again.
