v Sphere Replication appliance Network Related Suggestions

Currently we are using VMware virtualization infrastructure ESXi,vcenter server running on the same VLAN same subnet and vmware replication appliance is configured on the different vlan(subnet)  our network team want to deploy Firewall between vlan's and thay suggest v sphere replication appliance on the same vlan with vm data network.

What is the VMware recommendation here ??

can we configure v-sphere replication on the same vlan with the VM networks??
