How to find the VMware Update Manager source from the VCSA appliance

I have 2 VMware 5.5 environments.

PROD:

VCSA V5.5.0 U3d 3721164

Name:     SM_VC

VMware update server-

Name:     SM_VUP

OS:     Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter

DR:

VCSA V5.5.0 U3d 3721164

VMware update server-

<I cannot find this server>

How can I find the details of the VMware Update Manager server for the DR site? Is it running on the local VCSA or as a separate server?

Thanks.

By query the API Browser at  https://your_dr_vcsa/mob  and than Retrieve Service Content(Invoke) -> ExtensionManager -> Click on more -> com.vmware.vcIntegrity -> Server. There i can see my registered VUM and which URL(so IP/FQDN is used). If you dont find com.vmware.vcIntegrity that your VUM isnt installed yet.

Ah.. if you use the old vSphere Client check if the Plugin is there and maybe you need to installed/enabled it. If your Client loose Connection to VUM the Plugin disapeers from the GUI.

BTW: vSphere 5.5 runs out of supportet in 9/2018.

Joerg

VCSA 6.5 and later comes with inbuild VUM. All prior versions needs a external VUM running on a Windows system.

Awesome! I knew it would be there, I just couldn't find where it was. Thank you so much for helping me out- you have saved me a LOT of time.

Yeah, I know. I'm currently engaged in upgrading all our V5.5 vCenter servers at the moment. Thanks.
