AppStacks LibreOffice 6.2.2 stuck during installation.

Dear all,

Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
App Volumes Agent 2.16.0.62
No AV installed

During provisioning of LibeOffice 6.2.2 installation stuck on "Copying new files....".

Note: Without the "provisioning mode" installation works properly.

Any ideas?

Welp.. That was not a bad idea I had there....

Just use the 2.15 Agent and then you should be safe. I will try and get a message to VMware to see if they have tested it or even better yet have a fix for it. Strange thing is that it does work with some applications, just not all.

Try using something like procmon and see where its getting stuck, I've seem problems with things that get packaged with apps like visual studio redistributable not installing and freezing installed because they think they are there but they aren't. In once case I've had to add it to the parent image and the provisioning desktops to get the applications to install correctly.

this may need to go to support unless someone else chimes in, its a bit odd to me that it gets stuck creating what I assume is just html file. Was there a previous version of libreoffice installed, have you tried this in its own appstack? I've seen with upgrades sometimes you need to start from scratch because the order the apps are installed does make a difference in some cases.

Unfortunately, no.

It is a clean installation on the new AppStack.

So I might be wrong here but I seem to have somewhat of the same issue.

We went to 2.16 with our packaging machine and installed the Windows Patches that caused the issue with installing MSI's within Appvolumes.

We are trying to install CorelDraw and it just stops at a certain point. My guess is that it has nothing to do with the application per say but whe looking at CorelDraw it is made up out of a lot of MSI files. It could well be that if you have multiple MSI files it still fails with but you don't receive the error, it just stays there. After cancelling installation from the Appvolumes manager I received a "cannot find file....." error. I clicked it away a little bit to fast bit started to wonder.

I am in the process of installing the exact same software on a 2.15 packaging machine to see what happens there. Did you try that already?

Thanks, Both!

I installed 2.15 on W10 without KB mentioned and I was able to create app-stack with LibreOffice.

Still, VMware needs to look at that.
