snmp

we received a report on the need to close the snmp in the vulnerability scan . how to disable snmp on esxi .

What version of ESXi are you running? If you don't have vCenter, logon directly to ESXi > Manage > Services and there you should see snmpd service.

If you have vCenter, go on the ESXi Configuration > System > Services and there you will find SNMP

I want to ask something. we use solarwinds and it is using snmp. if I turn off the snmp it would be a problem ? Is there another solution

Then you need to configure this host with  icmp instant of snp, then close. becouse solarwind have two way to one is snmp secondary icmp.

If you don't want to disable SNMP you can change the firewall on the ESX hosts so that allowed IP addresses are no longer "All". And then use that as a mitigation for your security report.
