Hello,
When I ry to add a vCenter using local vsphere account (Use custom SSO - No) I first receive:
The certificate with thumbprint [8B:00:00:00:00:00:], provided by your vCenter is not valid due to error: "java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names matching IP address 10.x.x.x found"
and when I press "Continue" to proceed with invalid certificate I receive another error:
Couldn't create collection task to test endpoint. -> java.lang.RuntimeException: Couldn't login the client. -> Couldn't login the client. -> Error communicating to the remote server https://10.x.x.x:7444/sts/STSService -> Error communicating to the remote server https://10.x.x.x:7444/sts/STSService -> HTTP transport error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names matching IP address 10.x.x.x found -> java.security.cert.CertificateException: No subject alternative names matching IP address 10.x.x.x found -> No subject alternative names matching IP address 10.x.x.x found
FQDN or IP give same result. Other two solutions posted here did not help.
Thanks!

Check if you are able to login to vCenter using the email address which is used to configure vCenter endpoint.
If you are still receiving the same error.

Hello,
Welcome to communities,
As per the information shared, We see that you are trying to register vCenter Server with Skyline using the IP Address.
Request you to use FQDN to add vCenter server.
If you have customer SSO Configuration in your environment for vCenter like External PSC or Custom Domain other than vsphere.local
Please use Customer SSO configuration details.
Same error when using FQDN. I do not use custom SSO
