Decommission vcenter 5.5

Hi all! I have to decommission a vcenter 5.5. My schedule is three different sites, but I had the centralized management, from any of the three vcenters I could see the other two. In one of the sites, I have set up a new 6.5 infrastructure with a new vcenter. Now I have all vm moved, and in the old infrastructure, I want to turn off vcenter. What steps do I have to do? It is a Vcenter in Windows.

Is there ANYTHING running in the old vCenters at all? If not, you should have a standardized decom process similar to this:

1. Backup Server & Disable monitoring

2. Shutdown Server (wait 7 days)

3. If no issues after 7 days, power ON VM & remove from AD (Windows Servers)

4. Power Off Server

5. Ensure DNS entries have been removed

6. Remove from IPAM, CMDB, CI, whatever you have for that

7. Remove monitoring
