Update issues

VMware® Workstation 15 Pro running on Linux Mint.

There is an update to this software and it keeps on asking for a root password to install the update.

I have typed in every password that I have ever known and it won't work.

Please advise.

I only bought VMware software to give it a try. I wanted to run Windows, which I have learned to hate over 20 years, on my Linux Mint distro.

I had Windows as bootcamp on my Mac, and the updates screwed up my Mac/Windows so I threw Windows away.

If this software cannot update itself, then just don't offer it as an option.

Move on to one physical computer per operating system.

Just discontinue this as a valid choice for users and save us the money.

What you can do in order to fix this is to download the full version and then run it as root.
