Debian on vmware

Hi All,

I get the following errors when I restart my debian machine on Vmware and Sytstem could not be started :

Failed to start network time synchronization

failed to start update utmp about system boot/shutdown

debian failed to start hostname service

How can resolve these errors ? I don't take any backups before getting that .Please advise.

Thanks.

Need basic info:

Host OS?

Workstation Version?

Guest OS version?

Do you have VMware Tools installed?  And is it the OpenVMTools package, or the official VMware one from Workstation?

Boot your Debian into single user mode and check the filesystem.
Are you sure that the VM has its nics connected when you boot it ?

I did not mean to boot into "recovery mode"
Use the "c" option instead.

you should boot your Debian, into the single user mode and check again the file system.
