Windows10-1809 boot time takes 5-6 minutes

Hello,

I was building new Golden image with Windows10-1809 but noticed that after taking snapshot boot time takes too long for about 5-7 minutes it stucks on this screen. Does anyone else had this issue or know workaround about it? Horizon view environment is 7.7

This is a known issue with Windows 10 1809 on VMFS6. Until a fix is released you need to use VMFS5.

Official response from VMware engineer  politely he says that we need to skip 1809 this year.

The issue is identified to be due to some guest OS behavior change in this version of windows 10, 1809 w.r.t thin provisioned disks and snapshots, this has been confirmed as a bug and will be fixed in the following releases - 6.5 U3 and 6.7U3, which will be released within End of this year (2019).

A hotfix is available if you open a SR.

I have opened SR and this was the answer from VMware. Asked them twice if there is any workaround about this:

At this moment we do not have a workaround for this issue or engineering team is working on the fix, we may expect the patch release within EOD 2019.

Let me know if you have any info about this hotfix.

Thank's
