We are in the midst of a View 6.1.1 to 7.1 upgrade so we can go to Windows 10 next year. I am curious to see which version of Windows 10 you are running and why. I know there is the long term service branch build (LTSB) and the standard build. My worry is that Microsoft keeps adding new features and changes to the regular build with Creator updates every few months which is not needed in our enterprise environment.
From what I've read LTSB will still receive security patches, bug fixes, etc but not functional changes and new features.
Looking forward to seeing what you are running.
We had a long discussion about this in our organization. I voted to go with LTSB, but management wants to play with some of the new toys so they overruled and forced us to go with CBB.
Our enterprise decided to go with CB.
We decided to use Windows 10 LTSB 1607 in our VDI environment. Since we are in the HealthCare field, it was an easier sell.
We are using LTSB as Pro has all the built-in apps that when removed causes stability issues with the desktop. The LTSB version is pretty stable in our environment.
I am using Windows 10 LTSB 2016 which is working well. This version is without Windows Store, Cortana and other crapware, which is not needed in enterprise environment.
I have some experience with basic installation of Windows 10 1511 and 1607. These installations were terrible due to Windows store etc.
LTSB version is the best solution for VDI
Wanted to bump this up for an update!
We wanted LTSB but CBB was decided on due to the need for certain features. You will need to evaluate and determine what your requirements are.
