EVC allows you to migrate virtual machines between different generations of CPUs.

EVC-enabled cluster only allows CPUs from a single vendor in the cluster. VirtualCenter and vCenter Server do not allow you to add a host from a different CPU vendor into an EVC-enabled cluster.

Since they are both from the family and generation then you don’t require EVC to vMotion between them. Having said that it’s probaby still a good idea to enable so that if you add additional hosts in the future, they can easily be added to the cluster.

Kind regards.
