6.1.2 to 8.1.1 upgrade never offering to upgrade

Hi everyone

According to https://docs.vmware.com/en/vSphere-Replication/8.1/com.vmware.vsphere.replication-admin.doc/GUID-6DB... the upgrade process is supposed to work by deploying the ovf from 8.1.1 with a temporary IP.

Once it's booted, you're supposed to be presented with three options, one of them is to upgrade.

This never happens for me. I am immediately dropped onto the blue login page of a normally running vRA.

For the life of me I can't figure out what I might be doing wrong. The customer has already upgraded on his end with no issue at all.

Has anybody seen this behavior? I've retried this half a dozen times now even going as far as doing it in the standalone client...

Please ignore

I noticed the VRM service wasn't even running on the original appliance. I couldn't get it started either, so I deployed a fresh appliance so this issue is moot.
