Logon Monitor messages and no Session logging locally or remote

Running

Windows 10 1809 LTSC

Horizon 7.7, UEM 9.6 & AV 2.15

I am trying to use Logon Monitor to help resolve some login issues. I would like to push the logs to a remote server but at the moment I am not even able to generate the logs.

I have set the service to Automatic and the services runs using "local system " and I see the vmlm.txt file with an up to date time stamp of the last login. When I look at the last entries of the file is see a lot of these messages.

The other part to this is the vmlm_session file is not being created, just the vmlm.txt. That I can not figure out also.

I have the registry set to remote path to  \\server\domain.com\LogonMonitor$\%username%.%userdomain%

flag - 0x8 was 0x3 and still nothing.

the server has following.

Share - Domain Users - Full Control

NTFS - Domain Users - Full Control

Overkill I know, once its working I will work backward to lock down.

Thanks in advance.

We have used the Logon Monitor in previous versions up to Horizon 7.6. Once we upgraded to Horizon 7.6 it has stopped functioning properly. It will either show no information at all or very little information (several of the timings are missing in the graph or blank). It is not accurate when timing with a stopwatch/app. We have had a Support Case opened since 11/13/2018 on this issue. Originally the first level support engineer told us that the Logon Monitor was broken for Blast/PCoIP protocols. I confirmed this by switching the protocol of a desktop to RDS and the timing profile was accurate and worked. Then after it was escalated to another level we were told that the Logon Monitor has been deprecated as of Horizon 7.6. I pointed them to zero documentation stating it has been deprecated and pointed them to the documentation for Horizon 7.6 and 7.7 where its still referenced on how to set it up/view the timing. Every update since has been "We are waiting for an answer from the engineering team".

Now onto a 3rd level engineer and they still won't give us an answer.

Seems like they completely broke it and won't confirm it, in my opinion.

I am running into the same problem. I have two pools: Win10 1809 and Win10 1803. Both are running Horizon View Agent 7.7, and UEM 9.6. I did notice that the "VMware Horizon View Logon Monitor" service was set to Manual and stopped. I recomposed with this service set to Auto and started. However, in C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware Logon Monitor\Logs, I only see the vmlm.txt file and not the other vmlm_session file which gives me details about the user session.

Is the service supposed to be set to auto after the View Agent gets installed?

Doesn't help our issue but may help with the service startup issue.

Yea, I had done that during my test on the parent. This is probably a bug?

I think they don't want it running all the time anymore since the logon monitor itsself increases the logon time. I read that this is a designed change somewhere, this is what I read, but it says the same thing
