App Profiler - what machine to run it on

Hi all ,

Apologies for my ignorance. WAY new to UEM.  I'm watching the videos / trying to teach myself.

Question is :

The two machines i would think to run the Profiler on would be my "installer machine' ( i.e. a clone of my gold image with all other agents stripped except App Vol ) or an actual Instant Clone.

We are using UEM / Writables / APP VOL .. ie JMP.

The IC would be the end result i would want the app to effectively run on.. so i would probably use that and just a user w/ admin rights.

In as much as to just snag the configs w/ the profiler tool.

Also - sorry stupid question - if theres NO profile at all in the UEM manager for the app.. Config settings in no way will be kept / brought back after a IC reboot / logoff.. correct ?

Do files on the user desktop get automatically kept without any config ?

thank you ,

This one, just don't do it while your capturing the apps. I manually attach them back after they are captured and the run the profiler

This depends on where stuff is saved, if you redirect appdata to another folder, alot of stuff could be saved. Also writeable volumes may catch alot of stuff, but since if they break you generally have to restore an older one, I'd make uem configs for as much as possible

With writeable volumes everything should, if you use folder redirection then yes, if you don't use either then no
