Accessing VMs on ESXi 6.5

I upgraded from 6.0 to 6.5 for ESXi, in reading I saw where the vpshere client is no longer supported. Is the only option to use the web based client (http://ip/ui). If the web client is the only option is there a good guide to setting up users for acessing specific VMs or restricting certain functions?

.net client is gone for good in 6.5, web ui is the only way available to access UI for both vCenter and ESXi hosts. You can use the official VMware guide at https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/6.5/vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-65-security-guide.pdf Section 11 to setup RBAC.
