VCSA6.5 Ext PSC AND Joining Existing SSO Domain

Hi Folks,

I have imported VCSA 6.5.0-8307201 as a PSC only inside Vmware Workstation 15. When I proceed to join it to existing SSO domain , it generates an error "Setting up database data directory failed due to error FATAL...". I have attached error with this post .

Existing SSO domain is also  running on embedded PSC on VCSA 6.5.0-8307201.

Do we know how can we get around this error?

What i found myself is that if i import and setup VCSA 6.5+ PSC only-role appliance via VMWare workstation 15, it throws error I shown in my first post. It seems that appliance import via Vmware Workstation 15 is not supported.  However, i imported VCSA 6.5 PSC+vCenter Server appliance via VMware Workstation 14 successfully.

I got around the error by directly importing VCSA PSC role-only appliance inside ESXi 6.5 hosts.

Hello,

It seems there is no free space on the existing PSC. But please confirm if this log is from the existing PSC not from the new one.

Login as root to appliance and use the following command and share the output please: # df -h.

Please consider marking this answer "CORRECT" or "Helpful" if you think your question have been answered correctly.

Cheers,

Hello Hassan,

Log is from new PSC which is deployed with just PSC role . Since I imported PSC into VMware Workstation 15.x. I also tried to import into vCenter Server 6.5 as well just to check how much space is assigned automatically via OVA file . I am wondering why disk(s) from 7 to 12 are sized as 10mb. It is a default import via OVA file without any customization whatsoever.
