Not entitled to download ISO's.

Hello

I have to renew my VCP6-DCV by April and I"m trying to download ISO's for Vsphere 6.5 but I get an error message saying I'm not entitled to download. When I go to the free trial section it takes me to Vpshere 6.7, I don't want this version, I want 6.5. What is the correct way for someone who is investing their time and money getting certified on the VMWare product line to obtain the required software for their lab to complete their training?

Moderator note: Moved from the VCP forum area to vSphere Upgrade & Install

Free trials are always of the latest versions, hence 6.7. Licensed customers can opt to download older versions such as 6.5.

You could look at VMUG Advantage - check first, but I think it may give you access to the 6.x versions.

Hi Scott

So you're saying I have to purchase subscription to another VMWare program just to download the software that'll allow me to complete my studies? Seems a bit over the top? Is there no other way to obtain the software for study purposes?

P.S I'm not sure why this was moved from the VCP forum as it directly relates to renewing my VCP.

I moved the thread to the area which was most relevant for the issue you need resolving - getting access to the 6.5 software.

Trials and HOLs are always on the latest versions - so your only "free" option is to use 6.7.

As an alternative, you could wait a few weeks and take the new 2019 certification - based on 6.7: It’s January…time for the new 2019 VCP certifications! - VMware Education Services
