Hello there,
Installed vCenter Server 6.5 (external PSC), ESXi 6.5, NSX 6.4.4.
I created user "nsx" and grant him administrator privileges and used it for register NSX in vCenter and PSC. In vCenter appliance appear icon "Networking and Security" but when I opens it i see error:
No NSX Managers available. Verify current user has role assigned on NSX Manager.
In registering NSX to vCenter process I used following manual page: Register vCenter Server with NSX Manager
Next step in documentation requires access to appliance. I tried to register NSX with other user (administrator) but without results. Please, what I doing wrong?
the pre-requisites says the vCenter account used must be a member of SSO admins in vCenter.
User having vCenter admin rights and SSO admin rights is different.
Ensure that user has vCenter Single Sign On administrator privileges.
loging to vcenter using administrator@vsphere.local
make sure the user you are using for vcenter registration in NSX is a member of the group administrators.
If not add it.. and try registration again.
page 40 on below doc
https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-NSX-Data-Center-for-vSphere/6.4/nsx_64_install.pdf
I clear my installation from NSX, clear vCenter, remove NSX VM and deploy new installation. Now I used administrator account for connect NSX to vCenter and PSC. And now I see the same error:
No NSX Managers available. Verify current user has role assigned on NSX Manager.
I resolved my trouble. I have reinstalled again with fully acoording to documentation. The one difference was using thick provisioning disks. I not fully understand why it works now - how disk allocation affects user rights, but i see NSX manager in vCenter appliance. Account used for NSX registration - administrator@[domain].
Thank you for your help!
If you have used administrator@vsphere.local for vCenter registration than that is the difference.
As mentioned before administrator@vsphere.local is an admin on SSO and vCenter also.
using thick and thin provisioned disks makes no difference to the vCenter registration
