Cannot update, install, or un-install VMware tools for Windows after 10.1.2 update

This issue has been unresolved for at least a month - and I do not see any response - even "We're looking at it."

There is a missing path to the files needed to remove the previous .msi file and thus the updated Tools cannot be installed until the previous version is removed.
