Control Plane and NSX Controller

Hi,

Does Control Plane update NSX Controller with the routing tables or just update the DLR  if I understood that is right?

Management Plane = NSX Manager

Control Plane = Controller Cluster

Now, for your question. Static routes will be updated on your DLR however you configured it in NSX manager, but dynamic routing will take place via your DLR control VM forming an actual routing adjacency.

Basically it's this

Static Routing - You configure it on your NSX manager, then it's updates via NSX Controllers > DLRs

Dynamic Routing - You configure it on your NSX manager. The NSX manager updates your DLR Control VM with the dynamic routing configuration you set. Then, when your DLR Control VM learns routes it updates via DLR Control VM > NSX Controller Cluster > DLRs

I used the below NSX documentation to come to this conclusion.

NSX Routing Control Plane CLI
