Are you trying to configure it as passthrough? I do not see the avocent device in the compatibility list of supported devices

This kb is older but if you can restart management agents however I would suggest try it in lab or non-production first

Thanks,

Hi akermitb,

I had the same problem.

In my case, the problem was iDRAC version 2.52.52.52 and I rollback to version 2.50.50.50.

When I did the rollback, the device was show correctly.

Registered an account just to post that this worked for me as well on a PowerEdge T330 running Dell 6.5 U1.  Can't explain why, didn't require a reboot, had previously contacted Dell and they were clueless- they were saying it was incompatible external drive.

Thank you SO much rodrigostumpf!  Don't know how you came up with that fix, but that was it.

Brilliant fix. I'll echo the other person here... not sure how the heck you found that, but it works!

I had the same issue. Was pulling my hair out because we had used this drive before and it worked fine. In the mean time the Firmware had been upgraded to 2.52.52.52 so I did the rollback and, Wah Lah, there it was! Thanks a million!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestion... I end up updating to the latest firmware instead of downgrading... 2.61.60.60... PowerEdge R720... I was then was able to configure the passthrough and windows vm was able to detect the the driver for the licensing dongle... Thanks...
