Vmware SRM service is not starting after upgrading windows OS from 2008 to windows 2012

Vmware SRM service is not starting after upgrading windows OS from 2008 to windows 2012, getting error: dependency service doesn't exists. As protected service is deprecated from windows 2012 which is the dependency service for SRM. Tried removing protected storage service from below path but no luck.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ProtectedStorage

Can someone please help me on this.

To remove the stale service dependency as there may be more lingering peices, see Microsoft knowledge base article.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/256986/windows-registry-information-for-advanced-users

Note: This procedure modifies the Windows registry. Before making any registry modifications, ensure that you have a current and valid backup of the registry and the virtual machine

Additionally, verify whether LDAP communication is causing this issue and preventing the service from starting.

Update the permissions on the service account and restart the machine.

If you still face the issue, you may need to uninstall and reinstall SRM in both sites.
