Horizon cloud on Azure

I was just going through the video RDSH image preparation video in Horizon Cloud on Azure.  It's  mentioned after downloading the Windows 2012 R2 /Windows 2016 Datacenter editon from Azure Market it joins to the domain does the bootstrap  automatically after downloading the Daas Agent.

Question:-

I think n Soft layer it's recommended that Image shouldn't be join to domain.  Is that some thing different here?

Thanks

Venky

Hi Venky

it is not possible to enable the RDS Role without domain joining the machine. Hence, we auto domain join the machine as part of the image import process,

cheers

The domain join for the image is not an explicit pre-requisite. It is a nice validation step for HCS Azure to ensure the pool/farm build out from the image can avoid or have validated a potential domain join error. There is no need to explicitly enable domain join for HCS Azure or SL images.

There are also no issues with a domain joined image for HCS Azure.
