Hi All,
I have a doubt about VSAN RAID controller queue depth & write cache.
1) We are using Dell PERC H710 RAID controller. Is there any recommended queue depth available to this H710 controller ? By default it is 64. May i know what is the recommended value to reset the queue depth? It is 256 or more ?
2) Do we need to disable write cache from this RAID controller ? i have not seen any options to disable. Is this must ?
Thanks you in advance.

Hello Manivel,
"Is there any recommended queue depth available to this H710 controller ? By default it is 64. May i know what is the recommended value to reset the queue depth? It is 256 or more ?"
You want the QD set as high as possible - 975 for a H710P controller, though do note that this is not a great controller and I would advise acquiring something more modern if possible.
"Do we need to disable write cache from this RAID controller ? i have not seen any options to disable. Is this must ?"
The cache should be set to 100% read or disabled - this should be configurable in the BIOS.

The h710 controller is not supported on current releases of vsan.
What release are you running?
I would recommend a h330 hba since it's well supported

Thanks so much Bob.Right now we have this controller only h710.I already told to get another recommended controller and awaiting response.
I mistakenly sent as 64(QD) and it is currently pointed as 971(i checked in ESXTOP--->D--).It is the maximum one.
Sure i will check on BIOS once(write cache).
Thanks,
