Migrate vCenter Server Windows to appliance and change FQDN

Hi,

At this moment we have vCenter Server installed on a physical Windows Server. The thing is that some other applications are also installed on this server.
We would like to move vCenter to an appliance and we see there is an option to migrate. But when we migrate it will use the same FQDN and ip address of the server.
Is there a way to change the name and the ip address ot setup a new vCenter appliance and copy the data?

Thanks.

No, the IP and/or hostname cannot be changed during migration. Your two options are either:

  1. Deploy a net new vCenter with the desired hostname/IP and manually migrate hosts over.
  2. Relocate your applications that are (but really shouldn't have been) installed on the same vCenter to a separate machine.
