Fusion 11, Setting up and reading Virtual Private Network

Hi,

I try to set up 2 of my VMs in one virtual private network with option: "Private to my Mac" network adapter setting in my VMs setting

Is there any option to create multiple Virtual Networks and is there any options to check IP assigned to Machine outside of Machine itself? I don't  have access to the terminal of one of the machines and nmap does not show machine in IP pool (it should have daemons listening on some ports)

Hi decqq ,

You could get IP address for VM from  /var/db/vmware/vmnet-dhcpd-vmnet1.leases, while 'hardware ethernet' stands for MAC address of VM.

The IP is in the UI, but the VM needs to be running and have VMware Tools installed.

You _could_ do what Nancy suggested, but that's a pain and why we put it in the UI last year Smiley Wink

And yes, with Pro you can create several virtual networks. From the Menu Bar > VMware Fusion > Preferences > Network

Does it need VMWare Tools installed on the machine? I do have one, that does not display information about IP in UI, but yet is still visible in my network
