Where are my apps I installed in the writable volume? Apps just are not there!

Hello all!

So I create, enable and assign a writable volume to a user.  User is a domain admin and does have rights to install software.   I login, confirm that the writable is there and install the app.   I know that the installation goes into the writable volume because disk space on that volume decrease significantly.   Logoff that machine and grab another (Instant Clone)  with the same user account and the app installed on the writeable volume is nowhere to be found.   I can see that the disk is indeed attached but the app I installed is just not there.

App Volumes server version: 2.14.2.11

App Volumes Agent Version: 2.14.2.9 (This version came with the download of 2.14.2.11)

OS 1709 or 1803

Am I missing something here?   This seems like a super easy process but it just fails to work.

Thanks in advance for any comments or assistance!

By the way, I am only attempting to use writable volumes because I am having issues persisting licensing with Adobe Acrobat Pro and UEM.   I am starting to miss my past application provision tools (Unidesk).

Rob

Are you using a UIA only writable or a profile + UIA?

If it is the first one please do keep in mind that it does not contain any user profile information so the start menu icons are not persisted during sessions, also if the application is installed in the profile of the user (looking at you google Chrome) it will off course not be pertained in a UIA only writable.

Believe it or not, reinstalling the App Volumes agent on the master and pushing it to the pool resolved the issue.   Who knew!
