We're using Workstation Pro 15 on HP zBook 15 G4 laptops. Windows 10 is the host operating system. Windows and Linux guest operating systems..
This table summarizes my issue:
Host Network Adapter | Guest - NAT | Guest - Bridged |
---|---|---|
Wired | Works | Works |
Wireless | Works | No network connection |
I can't seem to make bridged networking function when I'm connected to the wireless network on the host. The guest does not see a functioning network connection.
Any thoughts? This is something that I'd expect to just work.

From talking to VMware tech support, as well as a quick experiment on my end, it appears that the problem may be with how my company's wireless network is configured, not with the VMware Workstation Pro product.

Please open the "Virtual Network Editor" in elevated mode (Run as Administrator), and check the settings for the Bridged network.
How is "Bridged to" set, and which physical network adapters are selected to be used for the bridged network?
Does it work when you select the wireless adapter, rather then using "Automatic"?

I have done this. The wired and wireless adapters are selected for VMnet0:
These are the settings for VMNet0:
These would seem to indicate that both the wired and wireless networks should be available to VMware.
However, this is what I see in a guest Windows 10 session set to bridged networking:
So what you've described is how it's supposed to work, but it's not what we're seeing on our systems.
Any other suggestions?
Mark
I've also tried this:
I get the same response - "unidentified network, No internet" in the guest.
