Change default sizes for VMs?

Hi,

Is it possible to change the default values when creating new VMs?

There's Small, Medium, Large at the moment, and we'd like to modify the configurations these VMs have.

Any suggestions?

/Andreas

Where do you see these sizes? By default, there are no VMs in vCD after installation and therefore no size specifications. So if you mean the size of vApp templates, then you have configured it that way sometime in the past. I would therefore check the vApp templates in the catalog and adjust the memory, vCPUs and storage settings.

It's there when you create an empty VM:

This is vCD 9.5 with the Clarity HTML5 UI. Yes, you can of course choose CUSTOMIZE on the size, but in order to make it more easy it would be great to align with billing sizes etc.

EDIT: The sizes are different for different operating system choices, i.e Linux SUSE has 32GB storage for Small.

Ah, okay. That's what you meant. Unfortunately I don't know any way to change these given instance sizes. Sorry.

Thanks for taking time to answer Smiley Happy

The main reasons for wanting to change this is two things; the pre-defined values are a bit too low for Windows Servers (2GB ram and 4vCPU, and 120GB disk? Just.. no..) and we'd like the values to be aligned with our packaging of VMs.

Hopefully VMware can make these values customizable in future releases, and even better if they could be set per Org in vCD  Smiley Happy
