I'm not sure what I did wrong but my Windows10 VM doesn't let me install the vmwaretools
I have tried with VM running and powered off same result.
Any help please?
Thanks
Hi,
Maybe your VMtools are already running with the latest tools and up to date: Find the below, in my lab where the Vm with updated tools is also greyed out:
Regards,
I doubt because the option to shutdown/restart under guest OS are also missing.
I ended up downloading the vmwaretools from the vmware site and install manually. I'm still very curious to understand why they erere not available form the console though...
I've discovered an annoyance/bug with ESXi 6.0:
When I use the C# client to log into the host, playing with the Console a few times on a vm, the ability to mount a cd/dvd just hangs. This of course also prevents me to use the client to install vmtools.
The only way to reset it is to close the client and re-open it, then the cd/dvd mount works again.
