i will add a rdm physical mode disk to a vm. size will be 1 tb . then can I expand it to 2 tb ? and how i can do it . we use vcenter 6.5 u2 and esxi 6.5 u2 and vmfs 5

its a RDM. Expand on the storage platform, rescan the storage devices on the esxi host(s). the VM might pick it up, if it doesnt, remove disk and re-add.

Increase the lun in storage to 2 TB , check in Windows server it should be MBR / GPT partitioned.. in case MBR dont increase more then 2048 MB ..

As soon as it is increased on stroage , the same will be visible in disk management in the server.. Non need to scan it on vcenter layer..

In disk management you can extend the drive..
