How to install Linux as a second bootable OS on a machine that already has VMware?

I inherited a VMware server which runs several Virtual Machines.

I can only access its CLI via ssh, e.g., execute vim-cmd commands.

  1. Can you recommend which documentation/URIs should I read to learn how to get to the GUI access to the VMware server?
  2. Is there any documentation/URI that explains how to install (as dual-boot) Linux (e.g., CentOS) on that VMware server computer?
  3. If {2} is not possible, where can I find the procedure to save the VMware server's license?

Thank you.

Are you talking about ESXi here? "VMware server" most closely matches this, but it's not an official product name. Just so we're all clear on what you have here...And, if so, what version of ESXi?

The reply to vmware -vl is:

VMware ESXi 6.0.0 build-3029758

VMware ESXi 6.0.0 Update 1

Yes, ok, so it's ESXi. To access the embedded HTML5 GUI, you may need to manually install the host client. Instructions available here. As for dual boot, you'd never want to do that with a virtual machine. That should always be a separate VM.
