HI
We had some permission issue with the UEM folder for redirection as it was not set with proper permissions from the very beginning. So, we went ahead and created a new folder(UEMdata). We had a condition set in both the folder redirection that if the users are part of a security group folder redirection will be redirected to the new folder and not to the old one.
Redirection is working fine but I can see that once in a while the folders are created in the old folder but it’s just the root folders (Desktop, Documents) no files within.
The UEM logs states that the condition has been applied successfully and redirected to the new folder. I would like to know what is causing this.
Thank you
Hi nevgeo01,
UEM just redirects the folders; existing folder content is not moved during redirection.
Hi UEmdev
We have migrated the data to the new share but even though the old share is disabled it keeps creating folder structure in the old share.
Hi nevgeo01,
What exactly do you mean? How does the folder structure appear if the share is disabled?
HI UEMDev,
We have deleted the old folder redirection setting and currently all users are pointed to the new folder redirection policy via security group.But I can see the policy fails once in a while please find below log entries
2018-11-05 06:24:18.838 [DEBUG] Conditions: Check for user membership of group 'mydomain\Horizon-FolderRedirection' = true
2018-11-05 06:24:18.840 [ERROR] Folder redirection: error 0x80070003 getting current path for 'Desktop' folder ('FolderRedirect-UserData.xml')
2018-11-05 06:24:18.842 [ERROR] Folder redirection: error 0x80070003 getting current path for 'Documents' folder ('FolderRedirect-UserData.xml')
2018-11-05 06:24:18.842 [ERROR] Folder redirection: error 0x80070003 getting current path for 'Favorites' folder ('FolderRedirect-UserData.xml')
I have verified the folder permission and all looks good. Though the old folder redirection is deleted it puts the folder structure as below
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21769
IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-183
Not sure why this is happening. I am also verified if any duplicate policy exist but I can see none.
Thanks for the help.
