Workstation Pro 14 VM for Windows 10 has blank screen

Yesterday everything was fine.  I shut down Windows 10.

Today when I started the VM back up it just show me a blank screen?

A couple of times, during trying to restart the VM and get Windows 10 to load,  When I shut it down it even showed me the Windows 10 screen when I selected the VM before powering it on??

Now it just shows me a black window.  I also tried one of the Windows 7 VMs and the same thing is happening?

How do I find out what has corrupted the VMs??

Hi, Suspicion is that some updates have been installed on Windows.

1. Boot the Window VM into Safe Mode.

2. Open Services.msc, stop VMware Tool Service.

3. Open devmgmt.msc->Display Adapter->VMware SVGA 3D->Uninstall.

4. Boot Windows Normally. You shouldn't get the black screen.

5.Open Services.msc and start VMware Tool service if already not running,

There have been reports in this community that VMs running with version 14 have blank/black screen when certain VPN software is active/connected on the host before the VM is powered up.

If you have VPN active/connected before you start any VM, that might be the problem you are facing.

Have a look as well on this for a possible need to reset winsock of the Windows host.
