I came across this post which shows that Ubuntu 18.04 and view client 4.70 works good :

I see below details from doc as well :

• Horizon Client for Linux 4.8 is supported on the following 32-bit operating systems if you use the installer provided by VMware:
  • Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.8 and 6.9
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 11 SP4
  • CentOS 6.8 and 6.9
• Horizon Client for Linux 4.8 is supported on the following 64-bit operating systems if you use the installer provided by VMware:
  • Ubuntu x64 12.04, 14.04, and 16.04
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.8, 6.9, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4, and 7.5
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 12 SP2
