If we migrate a vm between a host or cluster - is there anyway that we can see that through the VROP?
We can see the event through VSphere.
Not sure if this works in 6.0 (you should upgrade)
We generate alerts for any vmotion events and pass them into our alerts tab in a cmdb so we can see if we had a vmotion at the same time as a problem. To do this we created a message event symptom definition
Add that to an alert and we get the below when it triggers
Migrating "Servername" from "Host Name", "Datastore Name" to "Host Name", "Datastore Name" in "Datacenter"
Depends how you want to see it.
The most basic way is with the parent host or cluster property
The event what gets trigger on vcenter for those you can accordingly monitor and try to create alert and notification on vrops as well .
