Horizon Connection Servers and vRLI Agent

I have a quick question. We have Horizon View in our environment and we have 6 connection servers all synchronized as they should; representing the same number of sessions.

The question is, do I need to install the Log Insight Agent on all connection servers or just only one?

Thanks.

It is not mandatory to have it installed on all connection servers when you say it is just replicating data.

You install the broker agent on one View Connection Server host in each View pod in your environment.

You must install only one broker agent(connection server) in each View pod, which mean each view pod will have a connection server ,

So if you need all connection servers logs to be monitored in Log insight then you can have LI agent installed .

Also you can have filter among what logs can be captured by LI from these connection server /broker agent :

below blog explains you on how cna you filter out logs so that LI collect only those.

Thanks for your input GayathiS, however, this does not answer my question neither does the suggested blog post.

The reason I ask is because:

1. While performing a search for maybe a user's session, I get duplicate log results stemming from the different connection servers. So I know its because I have installed the agent on all the connection servers. Is it necessary?

2. I am trying to reduce the current ingestion rate which is just so high right now. And yes, I am running a 3-node cluster each node with 2TB of storage.

To add one more point here to clear, each View pod can have up to 7 connection server, you will have one broker agent for each pod.

Ok I think your last response almost completely answered my question. I wasn't sure if you were familiar with using the terminology View Pod. So yes, basically we have several View Pods each with 7 connection servers and one of the connection servers have the broker agent installed.

So basically on this view pod, I do not need the Log Insight Agent installed on all 7 connection servers right, it only has to be installed on the one that has the broker agent, correct?

Yes , for you to capture the logs from that connection server to vrops .

Also you can limit the logs/events that is pushed into LI by checking previous blogs which I provided.

Well you mean to capture the logs from the connection server to Log Insight and then to vrops if I so please right?....which is also based on the LI agent installed on the remote collectors.
