Thank you

No, you need to upgrade to Fusion 10.

You appear to be running High Sierra (Mac OS 10.13.6) while your VMware Fusion version is 7.1.3. This version of Fusion does not support and will not run on High Sierra. You must upgrade to Fusion 10 to have support for High Sierra as outlined here.

Thank you for responding. I have Windows 7 installed on VMWare Fusion. I dont use the mac other than hosting the files. Does that make a difference? It was working just fine until I cleaned out some files using CleanMyMac.

Hi,

It is technically possible to run Fusion 7 on High Sierra, although not recommended and not supported.

The easiest way to have Fusion 7 working on HS was by upgrading from an earlier macOS. I'm not aware of other "fusion 7 works on High Sierra' scenarios.

Re-installing Fusion 7 isn't likely to fix it.

Upgrading to Fusion 10 should fix your Fusion config.

It was working just fine until I cleaned out some files using CleanMyMac.

This is where I get an "oh-huh" feeling. It really depends on what files you cleaned out on if you damaged your virtual machine or ended up damaging your Fusion configuration.

Can you still run other virtual machines?

Do you have a backup of your VM?

If the answer to the last question is "Time Machine" then please do yourself a pleasure and make a copy of whatever still exists of your VM before you try to restore using TM.

This is because TM isn't a reliable way for backing up virtual machines.

Thank you but I believe the best thing I can do is upgrade. I appreciate all responses to my question.

Hi,

Yes upgrading is the recommended thing to do.

One more note.

Buy the upgrade to Fusion 10 today as tomorrow VMware Fusion 11 will be released and you won't be able to use the upgrade discount from Fusion 7 anymore.

Lowest version eligible for an upgrade currently is Fusion 7 and starting tomorrow I expect it to change into Fusion 8.

Your Fusion 10 license will automatically be changed over to Fusion 11 (this was confirmed by VMware in another thread)
