Is it Possible to mask a datastore for some Virtual machines?

Hi Dears

I'm seeking for a solution for my some virtual machines to only see a specific data store.for example my DMZ Vms should not able to see other VMS Datastore.

I know it can be implemented from storage array side and zoning. But for some reasons I,m not able to perform zoning.

good to say I can't separate Vm's luns from each other and also I can't separate its hosts from each other.

Is there any way to mask a Lun(Datastore) from some VMS?

Thanks in advanced

You can probably create a separate datastore cluster and move your DMZ vms to it.

1. Create a datastore cluster

2. Migrate your DMZ vms to the datastore that you plan.

3. Add this datastore to the datastore cluster.

Thanks!

Hi,

You can create a specific tag, assign it on your Datastore and assign your policy to your VM on each VMDK file.

Assign Tags to Datastores

Thank you,

As I mentioned I can't dedicate a separate datastore for DMZ Machines. All VMs are in the same data store.any idea?

thank you for your quick reply

I'm looking for a way like zoning.by zoning you don't be able to see other LUNS.

If I change VM Storage Policy I will able to see other LUNS.
