open-vm tools with Linux distros and Fusion 8.5.8 ?

Hello,

Most of the latest Linux distros install open-vm tools Vs. the VMware native component included in the CD.

However, I can't copy/past to/from the host/guest.

Further, with CentOS, Debian 9, Manjaro or Mint 19, I've a message at boot time saying : "Running in software rendering mode. Cinnamon is curently running without video hadware acceleration ans, as a result, you may observe much higher than normal CPU usage."

VMware Workstation has an option in the display dialogue panel to enable such acceleration but not Fusion.

So, how can I enable such an option, what are the drivers to download  and how can I enable the copy/past function from/to the host/guest  ?

TIA.

Hello again,

I forgot to say that when using the open-vm-tools, Unity can't be used.

Any way to enable the complete VMware tools with the new distros ?

TIA.
