Operation is not allowed by the applied NSX license. Please check assigned NSX license and vCenter connectivity.

Dear All,

I am going to deployed NSX Lab. I am deploying NSX Manager 6.3.4 on vCenter 6.5 U1 and Esxi 6.5U1 using evaluation license. I have successfully created the three controller but when i click on the host preparation and install the subject error come. Please help me to solve the issue.

You would need to assign an NSX license first.

For a step by step how to do it, follow this documentation: Install and Assign NSX for vSphere License

As per the doc in previous post:

Starting in NSX 6.2.3, the default license upon install will be NSX for vShield Endpoint. This license enables use of NSX for deploying and managing vShield Endpoint for anti-virus offload capability only, and has hard enforcement to restrict usage of VXLAN, firewall, and Edge services, by blocking host preparation and creation of NSX Edges.

If you would like to evaluate the full feature of NSX, you would need to request an evaluation license from a VMware employee or a VMware partner/reseller

I found that if you try to apply the licenesein the HTML5 client, the NSX for vSphere does not show up, but if you use the FLEX client, the NSX lic does show and your able to replace the default NSX license.

Also missing options in the H5 client.

Missing: "Service Definitions, Logical Switches, NSX Edges"

I second that.

You are unable to apply the NSX license in the HTML5 client. It just doesn't show up. I moved over to the FLEX client and found the correct license under the same menu. Applied it there and all is well. Hopefully this is a known bug that will be resolved.
