VMWare vCenter converter standalone fails - "Platform-specific error 38"

I'm running it on a Windows7 machine, trying to create a virtual copy of my PC that will run in VMware. I'm saving the virtual machine file on a local network drive. It fails at 1% saying "Platform-specific error 38". Logs are at:  Dropbox - ConverterDiagnostics20180916064422.zip

Any idea what's happening? How do I virtualize this Windows7 system?

The error is:

2018-09-16T06:33:09.448-04:00 error vmware-converter-worker[12848] [Originator@6876 sub=task-2] [BaseDiskSetComputer::AnalyzeErrorAndThrow] Error occurred when opening disk set, MNTAPI_ERROR = 609 MNTAPI errorType = 1, errorCode = 38

2018-09-16T06:33:09.448-04:00 error vmware-converter-worker[12848] [Originator@6876 sub=task-2] AnalyzeErrorAndThrow(): Insufficient permissions to open file

Ensure access to everyone read/write for UNC path.

I'm not sure I understand, you're saying it means it couldn't write to the destination directory I picked? That's not right, it had access. Maybe it was because this was a network volume (and it hates any latency)? When I did it to the local Desktop, it completed fine.

I can't explain much about "Insufficient permission", some operations are performed as different (root) user, that's why I'm recommend to give permission to share to everyone full control.

No latency or other problem in your situation just permissions.
