Problem with VMWare Workstation Pro 14.1.3

I updated my VMWare Workstation Pro from 14.1.2 to 14.1.3 this morning.

When starting my physical drives with VMWare it does not start, only get a black screen.

Any other VM image that is not a physical drive starts 100% without problems.

I reverted back to 14.1.2 and everything works again.

Is this a know problem with 14.1.3?

I can confirm every single word. It is a pity that I didn't look here before spending a couple of hours re-configuring and re-installing  vmware workstation.

I'm really sorry about this issue. An internal bug has been filed and investigation is on going. We will root cause this and fix it asap.

Can you try to see whether below workaround works? --  launch Workstation by "Run as Administrator"(Choose Workstation icon, right click it, and then click "Run as Administrator").

Just ran into the same problem.

VM's not using a physical disk boot fine.

Tried recreating the VM using the same physical disk, and still just blank screen on boot.

Revert to 14.1.2 and the physical disk VM is working again.

Also after installing 14.1.3 and rebooting windows repair triggers on the host.

Tried it a couple of times and it always happens.

14.1.2 install reboots fine after install.

Running Workstation as Administrator works as a workaround for me.  Looking forward to the update.

Hi Zongmin,

Any update ?

I have the same issue on the 14.1.3 version.

The New VMWare Workstation Pro 15 version release notification was recently indicated even this critical issue is not resolved yet.

I am not sure VMWare has the plan to fix this issue in the 14.x.x version.

Please let us know your plan for this issue resolving.

Thanks.
