6.0U3H to 6.5U2 Upgrade failes - violates foreign key constraint

Hi,

I need to upgrade 6.0U3h to 6.5U2. I am having the same issue as noted in the article: VMware Knowledge Base . The KB doesn't contain a workaround/fix however, does anyone know of a potential workaround? I'm going to engage with Vmware support but hope someone in the community has experience this issue and knows of a workaround or can tell me if vmware has a hotfix for it? I tried upgrading to 6.5U1 and still had the same problem

Thanks!

Error is: Upgrading vCenter Server fails with the error: "ERROR: insert or update on table "vpx_entity" violates foreign key constraint "fk_vpx_ent_ref_vpx_ent_type" (57738)

If the KB article, which was update about a week ago, states there is no viable workaround/fix, you don't have much of an option but to engage GSS to hope they have a solution. If not, you may need to sit tight on 6.0 U3h for a while until they do. That's happened to me before, and it's better to wait for an available fix and remain "up" than try to press your luck and chance an outage.

Since this is an issue with unsupported upgrade path, most likely it will be fixed in the next major patch of 6.5 and 6.7.
